About Us
ValleyGate was founded on a straightforward belief: that distressed and neglected properties represent both a challenge and an opportunity for Alabama communities. Too many homes across Central and South Alabama sit vacant, deteriorating, and disconnected from the people and neighborhoods around them. Too many families lack access to safe, stable, affordable housing.
We built ValleyGate to address both of those realities at once. By acquiring underutilized residential properties and rehabilitating them thoughtfully, we work to restore housing that communities can use, reduce the blight that holds neighborhoods back, and contribute to the kind of long-term stability that allows families to put down roots.
We operate in Alabama because this is where we’re from, where we’ve built relationships, and where we believe meaningful change is possible. We take our responsibility to the communities we work in seriously—not just as a business, but as a neighbor.
ValleyGate is committed to being a long-term participant in the revitalization of residential neighborhoods across Central and South Alabama. We measure our success not just by the number of properties we rehabilitate, but by the lasting difference those properties make in the communities where they stand.
We are honest in every interaction—with property owners, partners, and the communities we serve. We make commitments we can keep and deals we stand behind.
Respect
We treat every person we work with—from homeowners to contractors to municipal staff—with professionalism, patience, and genuine care.
We operate with patience and a long-term perspective. We are not motivated by quick returns at the expense of quality or community impact. Every decision we make is measured against its lasting effect.

Alexus Jacobs
Alexus didn’t come to real estate the traditional way — and that’s exactly what makes ValleyGate different.
Raised in South Alabama, Alexus built her career across education, technology, and financial advisory — three fields that rarely overlap but each shaped her approach to community investment. From education, she learned to engage and empower people where they are. From SaaS, she mastered scalable systems and data-driven decision-making. From financial advisory, she developed a deep understanding of capital flows, risk management, and sustainable growth.
Across every role, Alexus saw the same pattern: communities — especially in Alabama’s rural and southern regions — were systematically underserved. Vacant homes and disinvested neighborhoods weren’t just real estate challenges; they were symptoms of structural gaps in access to capital and long-term support.
ValleyGate was built to change that. Under Alexus’s leadership, the firm reinvests in properties and neighborhoods with an emphasis on equity, sustainability, and local participation. Each project is designed to generate measurable community returns — not just economic ones, but social impact that lasts.
“I started ValleyGate because I believe Alabama’s communities deserve serious, sustained investment — not quick transactions. Every property we restore is a commitment to the people who live on that block and the ones who will live there long after we’re gone.”
— Alexus Jacobs, Founder & President
